Could you please help?
Low body temperature as low as – Heart attack two years ago, reduced kidney function and pseudo obstruction (Ogilvie’s syndrome) due to complications with the heart attack (2 open heart surgeries and the second one resulted in flap and sternum removal). Also, low blood pressure episodes (the lowest one was 40/30 after Tylenol 3 was given). Also receiving IGIV due to protein immune deficiency. I am told that thyroid is fine.
Any idea of what might be causing the low temperature now.
The blood pressure goes down on and off. Usually is 90/60
Hi Dr Jockers – many thanks for some very indepth and informative articles. I am presenting with a range of symptoms that all fall into the no, or low, HCL category and am currently working with a functional medical practitioner in my town. Having started taking HCL (with pepsin) and digestive enzymes, I began by increasing HCL gradually, hoping for some sort of response. Now, at 26g per every large meal, I still have no heartburn and have experienced a total cessation of migraines (plagued for nearly 30 years with these). NO other symptoms have changed but I’m concerned about continuing at this level for fear of creating an ulcer (or similar). It’s also bloody expensive! Have you had experience with someone taking massive doses? Would you caution against this amount? Should I drop down the dose and just continue for longer?
Mood and other symptoms were evaluated by participant self-report using the Atkins Health Indicator Test (AHIT) in individuals undergoing weight loss following either a low-carbohydrate, ketogenic diet (LCKD) or a low-fat diet (LFD). Participants were 119 overweight community volunteers randomized to an LCKD or an LFD. An additional 51 participants who had completed an earlier trial contributed data for the psychometric analyses but were not included in the prospective analyses. Self-reported symptom levels on seven scales factor-analytically derived from the AHIT (negative affect, fatigue, somatic symptoms, physical effects of hunger, insomnia, hunger, and stomach problems) were acquired during 12 visits.
